Juneberry, Saskatoon, Sugar Plum,
and Currant Tree
Tall shrub/small tree, member of the rose family. Very sweet, and edible raw. Cooking the berries brings out an almond flavor and is nice in muffins, pies, pancakes, jams, jellies, and wines. Used dried in pemmican by the Indians. |
