For some, crossing International borders
can be quite a rush. Now you can hike right along 80-miles of the
United States/Canadian Border.
40 miles of the Border Route trail takes
you through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA), adjacent to the
Quetico Provincial Park. BWCA permits are required for this
portion of the trail.
This trail is not for beginners. It
is rugged and brings you far from any roads, telephones, or emergency
facilities. Hikers should come prepared with map, compass, as well
as other gear depending on the length of their hike. Since the
July 4, '99 storm much of the trail is still needing clearing.
