?" in last 24 hours, ?" in last 7 days Base:  ?" Woods:  ?"

Comments:  The trails are all good, as long as you get out before the temps rise. We've seen a big increase in moose activity, and they seem to prefer to walk on classic tracks, as opposed to skate lanes. At this point they have wrecked a lot of tracks, although, it may be worth it, because now you have a pretty good chance of meeting a moose on some trails. Skiing is now free, but unless we get a real dumping of snow, the trails will not be groomed. Crust skiing is fantastic right now, and a person can easily ski down to the BWCA in a half hour.

Fresh Snow:  ?" in last 24 hours, ?" in last 7 days Base:  6-12" Woods:  ?"

Comments:

There still is six to twelve inches of snow on most of the Banadad and there are very few bare spots. However the trail is no longer being tracked. Morning temperatures this past week have been in the lower twenties; afternoons have warmed to the mid forties.

The snow cover on the trail should last for another week at least. For you die-hards, who want to make your own tracks, the Banadad remains open for very good spring skiing.
