Found blooming in Cook County by Erik & Kimberly Anderson (Be sure to check out the past reports linked at the right as well!)

Where we went:
The fall colors burst out over night!  We drove up the Gunflint on the 20th and enjoyed some nice colors by Elbow Lake, but the colors were pretty tame the rest of the way up to Gunflint.  Friday we went up to Seagull, and Saganaga.  The colors were nice, but still not much.  Saturday was a completely different story.  Colors were beautiful everywhere we looked!  Of the wildflowers this week, I enjoyed the purple aster the most which was very abundant.

What we saw:

Aster - white and purple - many different kinds
Black-eyed Susan - Rudbeckia serotina

Bladder Campion, Silene cucubalus

Bush Honeysuckle
Butter & Eggs - Linaria vulgaris
Chamomile, Scentless - Matricaria maritima
Clover, Purple

Daisy, Oxeye

Daisy Fleabane

Evening Lychnis, Lychnis alba
Everlasting, Pearly - Anaphalis margaritacea

Hawkweed, Orange and Yellow
Jewelweed, Spotted - Impatiens capensis

Strawberry Blossom, Fragaria vesca
Tansy, Common - Lilium tigrinum
Thistle, Sow - Sonchus asper
Trefoil, Birdfoot - Lotus corniculatus

Yarrow, White, Pink, and Purple
