July 12, 13, 14 Isle
Royale: The trip to Isle
Royale was as wonderful as
it should be. The boat ride
is so long, but that gets
forgotten when you get there
and start looking for
flowers. The three special
orchids that we found were:
Listera auriculata twayblade,
Goodyera oblongifolia and
many
Hooker's orchids.
Eastern paintbrush, Pyrola,
(pink, green Shinleaf &
one-sided. Lots of
Ninebark
blooming & Devil's Club in
seed. Many orange
Wood
Lilies were blooming &
Ox-eye Daisies. We learned
that the leaves on the
daises were both healthy and
tasty.
