Our goal today was to find the Bottle Gentians. There is only one place in the county that we know of that they bloom and that is on the Lima Grade Road. We were glad we went today because by next week their color would not be blue any more, but brown. In that same area we were surprised to see that so many Iris had bloomed there and also many Northern Green Bog-orchid. Both of these were in seed. We must go there next year at Iris time.

We walked down a few forest roads and ate lunch (3:45) on the Mink Lake fishing dock. Several children were enjoying a swim across the lake and at the beach.

Flowers that we saw most frequently were: Goldenrod, Pearly Everlasting, Joe Pye, Asters, Fireweed, Black-eyed-Susan, Tansy, Evening Primrose and a few Daisies.
