We were hoping to see
Iris today and each place we
went to they were getting
old until the patch on the
Grade. It was a warm, sunny,
lazy day and we just drove
around and walked here and
there.
If you joined us for
lunch (at 3:00 ) we were at
the Cascade River Forest
Campground perching on our
small folding chairs eating
and pouring through our
books. You see, we are older
and forget much each year
only to re-learn again. We
picked some samples earlier
(only if there were many).
Is it Alfalfa or purple
clover,
Meadow Rue, Early or
Tall, Avens or Cinquefoil,
Thimbleweed - which species
?? The bugs chased us into
the car and on our way.
On the way home we took
Bally Creek and saw ever so
many
Linnea (Twin-flower).
The roadsides are so
colorful but I think that
Linnea and Early MeadowRue
will be the flowers of the
week.
See
what we found last year at
this time of year!
