Cavity Fire still burning. It was a warm, sunny day and we, especially I felt lazy. The highways were filled with vacationer's cars and the roadsides were all decked out in a colorful array of yellows, whites and Purples. The Goldenrod is showing more color and that makes me think of fall. There also is lots of Tansy, Asters, Black-eyed-Susans and Dock.

We had planned to hike at Cascade Park but there were too many people so we went on to the Caribou Trail to the Ward Lake Road. We walked down to Ward Lake and also Deeryard Lake. We use to think that Valerian was a special flower both beautiful in flower and seed and we found it in this area. Now it is all over and probably considered invasive. We saw seven Northern Green Bog -orchids, which are probably the most common orchid here. We ate at Tofte Park.
