We started our day at
10:30 and here it is 4:30
and we just got home and if
it wasn't for supper etc. we
could have stayed out
longer.
Fireweed is the new
kid on the block as far as
showy highway flowers go.
Also along the highway are
lots of Daisies both Ox-eye
and Scentless Chamomile, Hop
& Rabbit's-foot Clover,
Dock,
Bird's-foot Trefoil,
Buttercup,
Cow Parsnip,
Yarrow, Dogbane & Beach Pea.
Just starting are Mullein,
Black-eyed Susan.
We ate lunch at Esther
Lake and down by the shore
was this white flower. It
was stunted and we don't see
it very often here - It
turned out to be Blackberry
Bramble.
Another friend that we
hadn't seen for a long time
was Bristly
Sarsaparilla at
Devil Fish Campground.
In town outside of Harbor
Friend's House (Off East Bay
parking lot there is a large
colony of Vipers Bugloss.
Today we saw one
beautiful, gangly Moose, two
Fox & two Grouse
Ninebark (pictured above) formerly was on
the shores of Lake Superior
and now is blooming
profusely along Highway 61.
