Before that I went to Napens’ to get access to Butterwort Cliffs. Well, I saw the cliffs but couldn’t get close enough to see any Butterwort.

Along the highway is mostly yellow & white. Yellow Hawkweed and white daisies, Mt. Ash, Chokecherry, Red-berried Elder, Yellow Buttercup and multi-colored Lupine.

Along the shore of Lake Superior we saw Pink Moccasin flowers, Field Chickweed, Early-sweet Coltsfoot and blooming Butterwort.

Up the Hall Road (I don’t believe I have been on that road before) we saw a large crop of Common Cinquefoil (I think this is a first for me) – also Lesser Stitchwort and a nice area of Canada Anemone.

There were many Dragonflies around the Hall rd. & also the Barker’s Lake Road – where we saw a Jack-in-the Pulpit and several Spotted Coralroot. I hope the Dragonflies were feasting on Black Flies!

Earlier this week we visited the Cuckoo-flower, the Viburnum edule on the North Shore Trail and Early Coralroot at the Wild Flower Garden.

Another first on the Superior hiking Trail: Twisted-stalk, White Mandarin: Streptopus amplexifolius.
