We first looked for that
rare orchid in a different
place and could not find it.
We decided that it really
didn’t matter if we saw
unusual things – we just
enjoyed being out in the
woods and with each other.
The forest is so green and
lush because of all the rain.
Showy flowers along the
highway were: Cow Parsnip, Tall
Meadow-rue, Yellow & Orange
Hawkweed, Ox-eye Daisies,
Buttercup, Roses and various
clovers.
We saw the first Fireweed,
red berries on the Red-berried
Elder, Ninebark and red seeds on
the Moose Maple – these seem
like things that show when fall
is approaching – oh no – not
already!!!
We went east and north today
and had lunch at the Hovland
dock.
See
what we found in the past at
this time of year!
